Whether you’re making good amounts of it or you’re not taking home as much as you’d like, there’s one thing that almost every entrepreneur can identify with, and it’s that there’s always something you could be doing to improve your money situation.
From stabilizing your cash flow to getting more organized, my guest on this episode of Spa Marketing Made Easy, Nicole Cooley, is wholeheartedly focused on helping others not feel overwhelmed with handling and owning their current finances as well as their financial future.
With a holistic approach to money that combines your numbers, values, beliefs, and dreams, Nicole helps her clients build systems that bring you confidence so you can feel empowered with your money and move on to achieving your biggest goals.
After personally receiving coaching and systems support from Nicole and being able to double my take-home pay, I knew I needed to have her on the podcast to share how her specific approach to money systems is set up to help you feel good about your money not only in the day-to-day, but also in setting you up for success to make the right choices (for you and your specific) business so that the picture of your financial future is clear and bright as well.
Tune in as we discuss:
- How having a money and budgeting system in your business allows you to make better business decisions
- Nicole’s definition of cash flow and why this is often overlooked in many common, well known financial systems
- The three key areas of a sound financial system that will allow you to see the full picture of financial health for your business
- Why it’s critical to not just know where your money has gone, but also where you’re planning for it to go in the future

If you’re reading this there’s likely one thing you know for sure, it’s that you’re burning the candle at both ends, or you’re awfully close to it.
But the one thing you may not know is whether now is a good time to hire and bring on help so you can ease the load you’re carrying in your business.
I get it, hiring in your spa can often feel like walking a tightrope as you need to strike a careful balance to ensure that you’re in the right place to bring on a new hire while also not waiting until it’s so late in the game that hiring feels more like a burden than a relief.
While my overall goal for all my Spa Marketing Made Easy listeners is to help you get your dream team on board sooner rather than later, in this episode, I want to help you pinpoint your timing so that you can grow with the smoothest trajectory possible.
And before you listen, a quick reminder…
You’re right on time and exactly in the right place for your unique journey.
All that we can do as business owners is make decisions that affect our present and set us up for the future success we desire. Looking to the past is helpful for lessons learned, but not beating ourselves up over the “could of, should of, would ofs.”
Seek to make the decisions and take the steps now as if you were already the Spa CEO you envision yourself becoming and growing into, and you’ll find that your timing will work itself out exactly as it’s supposed to.
Now, let’s listen in as we talk about how to identify those tell-tale signs that it’s time to hire and make the decisions that will help you grow to the next level with the right support by your side.
In this episode, I discuss:
- The first and more important thing you need to get clear on before embarking on building your team
- Three clear-cut signs that it’s time to bring on help into your business
- The financial breakdown of what’s possible when you begin to build out your team vs. what you can earn as a solo
- My tips for Spa CEOs who are looking to bring on more admin support and my go-to exercise for determining what you can get off your plate
- How to think big-picture and long-term to see how hiring plays into your bigger vision

You’re creating content for social media, running Facebook and Instagram ads, and sending emails about your promotions, but it seems like all you hear is crickets (and you’re tossing your ad dollars and marketing resources out the window).
Here’s the scoop: although sales can come from those who randomly find you online via social media or a search engine result, that’s not the most sure path to sales success.
Your best method for ensuring that you actually capture your audience and convert them into a sale that’s not based on chance is by crafting a sales funnel.
In this episode of Spa Marketing Made Easy, you’ll learn what a sales funnel is, why they’re critical for conversion and how to get one built so you can stop relying on chance for sales and start seeing predictable revenue flow from your marketing efforts.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- How funnels help support your client journey and how it provides a more secure structure for obtaining leads and sales
- The big picture overview of a typical funnel and some variations on how you can structure your funnel according to your spa’s specific offer
- My top tech tools for building out your funnel and what elements you need to have dialed in to see sales funnel success
- My tips for troubleshooting your funnel as well as conducting tests and making tweaks that optimizes your funnel for the best results

Well, now comes the toughest part in my annual planning process, the *doing.* Now, I think that if you’ve aligned your goals with your values like we discussed in Part 1, the execution of your plan should actually be exciting and fun, however, there are going to be times when you want to stray off course, and that’s why you need accountability, which is what we’ll dive into here in the final part of our Annual Planning Series.

It’s often a term we hear in reference to raising babies or a family, but the sentiment rings true for entrepreneurs as well…
“It takes a village.”
Yes, even if you’re a solo aesthetician or spa owner, you too need support because whether you’ve got a single location with you as the sole service provider or you have a huge team at multiple locations, every entrepreneur looking to grow, scale, or find freedom, whether it be with their time, energy, or finances, needs a support system.
And beyond being an entrepreneur, then comes the role of being an ambitious woman, partner, parent (I know we have a few men on my list of listeners, but the majority of my audience is women, and if you’re anything like me, your business is a big part of your life and responsibilities, but your outside-of-biz responsibilities stack just as high).
As women, we’re so often fed the dream of “having it all” and while I truly believe that to be possible and true, I don’t believe we can do it on our own, or at least not without burning ourselves out in the process.
And if we’re being honest with ourselves…is it really “having it all” if trying to “do it all” costs us our joy, our health, and the white space of our lives where rest, hobbies, family time, and spontaneity can flourish?
I don’t think I’m wrong in assuming that the answer there is “no.”
So, if you’re ready for growth this next year and you have big goals you want to hit, seeking out support is critical, and in this episode of Spa Marketing Made Easy, which is Part 3 of our month-long annual planning series, we’ll dive into what to consider as you look to bring in support personally and professionally in the year ahead.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- How to plan for support both personally and professionally
- Questions to consider when examining the work you’re doing and deciding what tasks and responsibilities to delegate
- The two critical things you need to make your goals, which we outlined in Part 2 of our planning series a reality
- A quick exercise for beginning to see which areas you need support in and how to outsource and delegate to start freeing up your time and energy quickly

Welcome to Part 2 of our Annual Planning Series on Spa Marketing Made Easy!
If you’ve yet to listen to Part 1, be sure to listen to that part first to get a firm understanding your commitments.
And once you’re clear on your commitments, bandwidth, and the values you want to align your goals with, now it’s time to take the next step of honing in on your quarterly focuses.
This part of the planning process is key because while it’s fun to do all the big, lofty, and audacious goal-setting and visioning for the whole year, it’s also important to have your overarching yearly goals acting as your North Star…
If you don’t take the time to break those big goals down, you’re going to be left spinning your wheels rather than actually moving forward and covering significant ground in reaching your goals.
Think of your quarterly goals as the crucial stepping stones to crossing the side of the wide river that is the year ahead.
Let’s map the journey, shall we?
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- How to bring what you uncovered in Part 1 of our planning process to the next step
- Getting clear on divvying up your annual goals and benchmarks into quarterly goals and milestones
- Why it’s critical to pace your goals and how determining a quarterly focus helps you to do that without burning yourself out or making rushed mistakes
- Examples for how to space out your promotions and timing of your goals to make them realistic and achievable, while also wildly successful
- The important of breaking every element of your goal own to its smallest parts
